What is Pilates?
Pilates is a series of mind-body exercises evolved from the principles of Joseph H. Pilates. Posture, balance, and core strength will greatly improve. Bone density and joint health increase, and many experience positive body awareness for the first time. Pilates teaches balance and control of the body, and that capacity spills over into other areas of one’s life.

Joan Adams received her Pilates certification for mat work through the PhysicalMind Institute in 2003 and has been teaching mat classes at various studios and gyms since. She has also received Power Pilates Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 certification, which qualified her to train clients on the Reformer, Cadillac, Hi/Lo Chair, and other apparatus. In September 2005, Joan brought Pilates to Lang Chiropractic and is eager to contribute to the exceptional care that is characteristic of this organization.
